BARBARA KERKHOFF
My dream as a five-year-old was to play the harp. After many years of piano lessons, I was very fortunate to begin my harp studies at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. My instructor was Jeanne Chalifoux, the harpist with the National Symphony.
After moving to Ohio, I studied with Joan Seymour, the harpist with the Dayton Philharmonic. I played with the Miami Valley Orchestra and the Dayton Area Harp Ensemble for several years. After moving to Florida, I met internationally acclaimed harpist Jan Jennings who was my mentor for a few years.
I have been playing for weddings and other occasions for over thirty years and am delighted to share my love of the harp by providing beautiful music for my clients’ events. My extensive repertoire includes popular, Celtic and classical selections.
